Company

1983. There was no grand opening celebration, no IPO. Just the lights burning late each night to signal that doors were open and a 'can-do' attitude was the order of the day.

As it turned out, saying 'yes' to so many early requests was a pretty good initial business plan. From daily ad resizes for a national electronics store, to the info-packed catalogues that enticed vacationers to travel via Fiesta West and Canada 3000, Fleming became the place to go for stringent production values and strong design.

These were qualities that became the foundation for the company as it flourished over the years, attracting new employees ... and new partners. In 1990, corporate communicator Catherine Winckler incorporated her business into FCG, and designer Blair Pocock added an even stronger design aesthetic to the mix. By 2006, the multi-disciplinary firm had grown to 30, precipitating the purchase of a new corporate building in a thriving new area of the city, just blocks from the future Athletes' Village for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
